SGI Trout reports??
Heading down to SGI next Saturday (the 19th) and taking the boat. Has anyone had any luck with trout starting to show up? I will be staying at the east end on the bayside with a dock, so will be able to easily fish anytime.

Dogdayz,
On the spots you mention, what are you targeting and baits being used this time of year?
Thanks

SGI area fishing
Taking my 17' hydra skiff down to St George March 29th thru April 5th. I have fished with many guides in the area and can remember a few spots, but not many. Anyone want to share any holes with me? I am willing to put in the water anywhere from Indian Pass to Alligator point just so I can put my ...

Re: Lowrance Elite 5 HDI
Do you think the base maps will be good enough to navigate the St George Island area, or would the Navionics chip be necessary? I have been out with many guides, but never on my own so it does make me a little nervous with the oyster bars.
Thanks
Thanks

Lowrance Elite 5 HDI
The Lowrance Elite 5 HDI says it is loaded with base mapping. Does anyone know what this means exactly? Is it a good idea to use optional mapping from another source? If so, what is the best optional mapping to use with the Elite 5?
Thanks
Thanks

Electronics question
I have just recently bought a 17ft Center Console HydraSport. It does not have any electronics, so I am looking to buy a GPS/Fishfinder combo. After reading many reviews from different sources, I think I am now more confused on what to buy than before reading the reviews. I will be using the boat ...

Re: SGI Cut
Spent time at the youth ramp in the state park. Was looking for finger mullet but did not see any. We did catch other bait minnows, a couple were bull minnows do not know what the others were.
With a falling high tide, I was getting taps, finally got the hook set on one after loosing 6 or 7 ...

Nick's Hole SGI (Plantation)
Anyone know if there is a way to fish from land at Nick's Hole within the Plantation on St George? I am staying in the Plantation and have heard people mention Nick's Hole, so was wondering if there is a way to get there by foot.
Thanks

Heading to St George on Sunday (Mar30) and staying until next Sunday with my wife and 4 boys. My family got a last minute deal in the Plantation, so I will have access to the Cut. I've never had the opportunity to fish the cut, so I'm looking for any help on how to fish it from the beach. I've got a ...

Re: Alligator Point in September
Ok, so we are now at Alligator Point. We got here yesterday afternoon and my boys and I have fished ever since. We have caught about 25 catfish and that is it. At first my boys loved it, but now they keep asking if there is anything else to catch. Thanks for the above advice from everyone. I am ...

Re: St. George Bridge Fishing
I've been to St. George a few times and the best place for me so far has been fishing at the youth camp in the state park. I throw my cast net at the youth boat ramp to catch finger mullet and pin fish. There is a channel out in front of the ramp that runs from left to right. I fish my live bait in ...
