I stocked a rarely fished pond off of Natural Bridge Road years ago after going out with a biologist to shock up some fish. Even though this pond was rarely and I mean rarely ever fished, most of the fish shocked up, especially the bass, were on the small side.
The biologist told me the type of ...

Re: Looking for the skinny on sand trout
Sand trout saved the day for us Sunday. The tide was really low when we got out and any of our spots did not produce. I poked around a shallow area (Panacea) surrounded by oyster bars and mudflats, and found an area that went from 2 feet to 8 feet deep. We dropped anchor and caught a few on a gulp ...

Re: Important Lake Jackson meeting 02/03/15
Wow! Sounds like an interesting meeting.
My take away is that all us duck hunters, starting with Bman himself, move to only organic fertilizers! I'm digging my outhouse today!
Seriously, I love seeing the lake level up and it does make a lot of sense to see what the cold and high water levels do ...

Re: Important Lake Jackson meeting 02/03/15
When I moved up here from central Florida I could not believe that there seem to be NO big lakes with "open somewhat clear water" that were skiable or that you could run a boat on without a "go-devil" motor. It was quite depressing actually.
I think the duck hunters have plenty of places to go hunt ...

Great report!
I do have to call you out though......why would you celebrate catching a first red at Sonny's when you could be eating fried redfish and cheese grits!?!?!?!

Apalach report Dec. 4
Short run from the public ramp just under the bridge out to where the bridge first crosses over open water. There were four other boats anchored out there.
We loaded the cooler with "ground mullet" a.k.a. whiting, and silver/sand/sugar/white trout.
The rig was simple, line, small egg weight, light ...

Shell Point June 6
Took my son and his buddy out near shell point for a short morning fishing trip.
Pulled up to an oyster bar that has produced in the past and the boys, both 12, pulled in 6 redfish within the first 30 minutes (on 21' keeper). We moved out to deeper flats as the tide fell and were catching lots of ...

Re: Oyster bay 5-10
I too slayed the redfish in Oyster Bay on Tuesday. Gold spoon worked well, but the secret "Jose Gaspar" rig worked even better. Also landed a 24" 4 and 8er trout!

Re: Looks like no one went Saturday? (Lighthouse)
Caught a stingray, redfish and sheepie in Panacea area. Could've loaded up on sheepies as I had them biting every drop, but was looking for reds....20 mph winds, cloudy, but had fun.

Would love your opinion
If you had to choose between the marina at Shields, Alligator Point, or Panacea (Rock) which one would you keep your boat at and why?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Quick trip out of Panacea.
This is actually neat for Bman's boat!
He is an expert at trout that size (notice, no photo of the mysterious giant cold water mackerel!?!?!? Did the mackerel have whiskers?
)
LOL.....
