Re: Going to Pensacola this weekend
I have fished that area a few times and went on a trip last November. I am not sure what all may have changed since then, but on my last visit we located bull reds, false albacore, and snappers in the pass. There were also loads of white trout with a few reds near the 3-mile bridge, which has a ...

Re: Things to do/places to eat near Mexico Beach
I lived there most of last Summer fishing and working. As mentioned above PSJ has good restaurants like Sunset Grill and the Indian Pass Raw Bar is a big favorite, however I spent a lot of evenings at MB walking over and eating at Mango Marley's. Great food, nice local folks, live music some nights ...

Apalachicola 7-30-2011 (Video)
Went with some visiting friends offshore out of Apalachicola last Saturday. It turned out to be a great day with nice weather this weekend, which was a treat for one angler that had never been offshore before. Water temps were in the mid-80s and air temps in the low 90s laid down slick that morning ...

Re: Vacation Help: The Mountains
Yes - Nantahala is a beautiful area if you want "real" mountain scenery next to a cold water river with great rafting. Same with boone and all the other NC ski towns - they are real nice for the women - I recall lots of shops... Chattanooga is a bigger city most folks stop by on the way to check out ...

8 Tarpon jumped - 0 landed (Video) 7-14-2011
Eight jumped - none landed. I can find them and even find them feeding, but I still remain a failure at properly landing a tarpon. Jumped on topwater spooks mostly and one on a pogie. On the flip-side I have realized I am a consistently proven Sailcat angler - plus I made some great memories with my ...

Forgotten Coast Fishing - June 2011
A few video highlights from our trip a couple weeks ago - trying to give a little something back to the forum for the great experience this fertile area provides. We fished out of Mexico Beach, Apalachicola, and Lanark the week snapper opened and Grouper/AJs closed. I really look forward to every ...

Re: Mexico Beach 4-25-2011
Great trip! might want to keep quite about gags (if you kept) in a 100 ft don't know any spots that deep where you fished that are in state water :)
Thanks Ranaman - you are correct - 100ft is in Federal 18-20 miles out so the gag was safely released. I believe we know where she lives though and ...

Re: Mexico Beach Info??? Lodging/Bait/pinfish locations
Hello - I just joined and this is the first post for me on this forum - I fish this area as much as possible - last time I fished MB I stayed at the place below - nothing fancy but it has good boat parking near the ramp and the price is economical for a 2 bd. The MB canal can hold some bait if you ...
