Re: Trailer Lights

It's all about money -- and remember these kits are used on more "none marine" trailers, so the manufacturers don't include a ground wire down each side of the trailer. It wouldn't cost more than a dollar per kit -- but they are out to make as much money as possible, and the average fisher...

Re: Trailer Lights

Using the trailer frame for the ground, means a "problem connection" at each light. That connection is usually a hole drilled into the trailer frame thru the "galvanized coating". The first time this connection see's salt water, the corrosion starts between the steel trailer fram...

Re: Looking for a new to me boat.

Well that covers a lot of ground. How much comfort are you looking for?? A 14 foot aluminum skiff with a 9.9 HP will get you to the same places, as that 150 HP flats rig! And you need to consider how often you will be using it vs how much you want to spend. Looking out the window at your $3K boat in...

Re: Ecofina -- Thursday 19 June

Yes, I launched out of the park. It can get a little tricky on a low tide, just can't get in a hurry. It helps to look your fishing areas over during those low tides to determine where the oyster bars are and how the water runs around them -- for fishing AND navigational purposes!!

Re: Ecofina -- Thursday 19 June

Found lots of current, your prime is 8:13 to 10:13. I worked the points after the prime time and still had decent action, caught two to three fish at each stop. Work the points facing Southwest.

Re: Ecofina -- Thursday 19 June

Started with a jig head and Gulp Root Beer , which worked good, then switched to a jig head with a white Gulp and never changed because fishing was "red hot". Lost a few nice trout right at the boat, as well as one nice red...

Ecofina -- Thursday 19 June

Water temperature 84 degrees, seas -- smooth. Water is clearing up -- much better than two weeks ago. Could see bottom clearly in three feet of water. Plenty of bait, not too much top water action? Started fishing around 7:30 AM , solid action for two and a half hours ---- Jacks, ladyfish, redfish, ...

Re: Wade Fishing Ochlockonee Bay

Thank you for thinking about future fish generations SIR !! And after days of consideration, over this post, I have come to the conclusion that - THAT Red had a MUCH better chance at survival, being released, EVEN AFTER BEING ON YOUR STRINGER, than it would inside your freezer. Thanks again !

Re: Trailer Lights

I had a trailer light problem a few years back, and would work one trip and not the next. As I started working on it, it would start working!!! I decided to change over to LED fixtures. There wasn't too much to select from at the time. These were sealed units. After wiring them up -- they didn't wor...

Re: Wiring for Trolling Motor

What we are talking about here is called "VOLTAGE DROP". We have all, probably at one time or another, operated some electrically supplied motor or string of lights that we "felt" some warmth in the wire. This "heat" is caused by the resistance to current flow. VOLTAGE ...

Re: Ecofina 6/7/14 with my family and a newbie.

Fishing the points and shorelines for reds and couldn't buy a "RED BITE" due to the schools of jacks! It was solid action, and yes they do put up a good fight!! Most of the schools were small fish, but I did manage some in the four pound range which had me "hoping it was a red?",...
