Re: Anybody been out of Indian pass lately?
Glad to see new Google maps. Check out Money Bayou just west of Indian Pass. What the heck is coming out of that place into the Gulf?

Re: Need boat buying advice
Any thoughts on this Hydra-Sport? http://atlanta.craigslist.org/wat/boa/4331360849.html I'm thinking this could be a low cost way to spend some time fishing while I learn what I really want.

Re: Need boat buying advice
"IMHO, find a 0-12 degree deadrise boat, wide beam (7'8" to 8'6"), with a handsome flared bow."
Can you suggest some specific examples to look at?
Thanks,

Re: Need boat buying advice
Has anyone worked with the "Ugly Boat" folks before? It appears they are now building Pangas.

Re: Cape San Blas + late November + Canoe = Fish?
Thanks for the hints! Gotta ask how you folks define "really cold"? How cold does it have to get for them to leave the flats? If they do head to the ditch, can you suggest places for us to try?

Cape San Blas + late November + Canoe = Fish?
I will be visiting the Cape San Blas area during the week of Thanksgiving and was wondering where my sons and I might find a fish or two. We only have a canoe and trolling motor. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Thanks,

Re: Need boat buying advice
The more research I do, the more overwhelming the choices are... As someone mentioned earlier, maybe the boat will just find me. How did y'all make your final decision on the boat you own?

Re: Need boat buying advice
In this case, I need a boat that is affordable to buy, maintain and operate. I was hoping to get something for less than $15,000. These Pangas are more than I thought they would be. Anyone make a less expensive model?

Re: Need boat buying advice
What limits do Pangas have that other boats don't? Just curious. Casting platform limits? Forward visibility? BTW I tried the Mojito Boats website and it is not functioning properly and the only phone number listed says its voice mailbox is full.

Re: Need boat buying advice
Thanks for all the input! The more I learn, the more interested I'm getting in Panga style boats. Seems like the perfect boat for the Apalachacola/Port St. Joe area. Shallow draft, but able to handle decent chop. Any thoughts or comments?

Re: Need boat buying advice
Can someone explain the difference between a bay and flats boat? Higher sides? Deeper draft? Deeper V? Any suggestions for an easy to maintain, low cost to operate, bay boat? Where did you buy yours?
Thanks for all the help!

Re: Need boat buying advice
I should add I'm looking for something relatively simple to maintain and affordable to run.
Most of my fishing experience has been in the Cocoa Beach area where the ability to run in very skinny watter is important. When folks in the Port St. Joe/Indian Pass/Apalachacola area talk about "flats ...

Need boat buying advice
I will be spending a lot more time fishing in the St. Joe, Indian Pass, Apalachacola area and am looking to buy a fishing boat. I had planed to get the 17' version of one of these (http://ankonaboats.com/ankb2_006.htm), but am getting concerned it might be too small. I plan to do mostly inshore ...

Re: Indian Pass Advice Needed
"the new park at the beginning of C30E right after you make the Cape turn" I looked on Google maps and couldn't find this. Do you know the park's name?
Also, any suggestions on lures to throw? Thanks for the help!

Indian Pass Advice Needed
I will be down there this summer with my 15 year old son to fish. We keep thing simple and use a canoe and trolling motor to get us to the fish. Are there good flats we could get to if we launch at the Indian Pass boat ramp? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
