Re: Panacea wading?
I went to Bottoms Rd for the first time ever today and there was water across the road and a few eating size but not huge mullet jumping far from the road. I abandoned mullet fishing pretty fast with that. There was a local guy ditch fishing and he said he usually does aight but wasn’t sure what the...

Re: Little Bit of Red Tide Panama City
As long as it washes ashore normally everything should be ok. We will see I guess.

Re: Almost Fall Y’all!
O come off it. If you have ever read here before surely you’ve seen me or others refer to certain people or things without generalizing all people or things. The rough crowd deer hunts but the rough crowd doesn’t necessarily make up all deer hunters ever, just as the rough crowd fishes but doesn’t m...

Re: Huge Disappointment
Hot dang I know the feeling. But I’ve learned that something that I used to have just plain backwards. If you lost 1, that means there’s another 1 out there. Then if you lose him there’s another etc etc etc. I used to think it was just impossible to hook a trophy more than every so often. That’s bee...

Re: Almost Fall Y’all!
Good looking fish and scallops. Fall isn’t my favorite time of year but I do like the fall fishing stories because all the fishermen still fishing after summer are the real fisherman. The rough crowd has gone on to the deer hunting and any picture of any fish you see was either let go or ate within ...

Re: Panacea wading?
Like every fall I’m planning on trying castnetting mullet from the beach which I’ve never done before. I’ve never been able to up and go because my line of works turns on like a switch. It goes from dead to booming. I hope you post a report!

Re: Questions about cast netting mullet in the fall
To gently swerve this thread back to your original question... The St Marks Refuge is chock full of mullet. The canal/pool adjacent (east) of the lighthouse holds thousands, and all the creeks that feed from Deep Creek levee to the bay also are highways for eating-size mullet. You will need to lear...

Re: Questions about cast netting mullet in the fall
Of course they’re allowed to be there but it would be nice if certain ones gave a dang about the place in return. The to big outboards, along with other things yes, contributed to the silt problem and I was in on it yes for a long time before I learned what was going on. Grass choking up the river i...

Re: Questions about cast netting mullet in the fall
That’s not a minority opinion around here. It’s been discussed before. I’m a boater to, but I’m not a whoosh up and down the river doing donuts in an airboater or a whoosh up and down the river boiling up the silt in a mud motorer. The silt of course getting there to start with because people did th...

Questions about cast netting mullet in the fall
But first...the Wacissa River looks like a dang sewage dump, and I’m disturbed over the fact that it’s the people who go up and down it every week that make it that way. I was at Goose Pasture Thursday and it was dark from rainwater but not dirty. I went back Saturday and it was dirty. Then today it...

Re: Dumb question time (Tucker Lake)
I went back and only caught tiny catfish and a stingray. It rained most of the time I was there But obviously I know to keep it on the list of places.

Re: Dumb question time (Tucker Lake)
A little late getting after this but I did, and I’ll start off as usual and make that fishing proclamation - you will not believe what happened. First this was postponed because my friend treated me to frog gigging on Lake Miccosukee and we loaded up! Then he gave me all the frogs! I just ate every ...

Dumb question time (Tucker Lake)
Is Tucker Lake freshwater or saltwater? I know nothing about Och. River or the Bay. I don’t know where freshwater ends or saltwater begins, brackish water etc. I’m a good fisherman which is something I hope everybody here knows by now hee hee but this is just plain beyond my stomping grounds. Before...
