Re: Only a few more weeks.

How bad is Steinhatchee on a weekday morning after scallop season has been in for a few weeks? i usually don't go once scallop season is in due to the crazies, but this year my wife wants to go since she's never been scalloping before (or even snorkeling). Haven't got to fish as much as i usually do...

Re: Flats or Creek?

Didn't realize how many of us were from around South Georgia. I dont get out winter fishing much because the drive is 2 hours or so to Steinhatchee and haven't had much luck when we have went. Went Christmas day and broke down a mile and a half out the mouth of the river and had to have Seatow bring...

Re: Steinhatchee Christmas Day

Yeah i was thinking it hadn't been cold enough also.. It's been in the 50's up here in south georgia, but 60's and 70's down there. Hmm interesting. I've never fished the Suwanee area.. i fished Amelia Island area on the 10th, with very little luck.. the cold snap and rain was a day or so behind wha...

Steinhatchee Christmas Day

Thinking of riding down to Steinhatchee Christmas day to do some fishing. Was wondering if anyone has an idea of what the water temp will look like? high for surface is supposed to be 81*.. Just wondering if they are still on the flats or up in the river yet?

Thanks

Nice catch! A bad day on the water is better than the best day at work, but a good day on the water is one you always remember.

Re: Econfina 10/23 What a Day!

I used to live in Moultrie, moved to Adel in December.. We had 2 flats on our tandem trailer last trip to Steinhatchee. Hate it when bad luck strikes before you even get there... Always puts a damper on the day, but with a catch like that, can't help but put a smile on your face. Nice Job! We are hi...

Re: 06/11/16 Pepper Fish Key

Dixie, i just moved from Moultrie to Adel back in December. Yeah we went out to 10-11 ft and got no bites at all. They were a little picky Friday, talking to people at the ramp no one did very good, but Saturday and Sunday i talked to a few buddies that wore them out those days.

Re: 06/11/16 Pepper Fish Key

Thanks for the tips. Friday we caught a ton of trout, just no keepers. Biggest was 14 1/2". The lady fish were on fire though.. we saw LOTS of schools of lady fish and they were hungry. Had one jump atleast 10 ft out of the water. My wife had a blast catching them. We were in 8 ft or so of wate...

Re: Red fishing Steinhatchee?

I've got a pro line flats stalker so it drafts pretty shallow.. have to let the johnson up and put a spotter on the front i guess until i get more familiar with that area.

Thanks for the tips. I've never went west out of steinhatchee, always east (south).

Re: Fishing sat.

We had two blowouts on our tandem trailer on the ride Friday. Luckily they were both on the same axle. I was going to take the axle off, but the PO welded the bolts to the hangers  We had to redneck it up and use ratchet straps to ratchet the axle up closer to the frame to keep it from throwin...

Re: Red fishing Steinhatchee?

I haven't went as far south as rocky creek. So basically once i get around that area get close to shoreline and look for structure. Low or High Tide? Low tide i know if i get in somewhere i can get back out.. high tide i guess is more tricky because you could get stuck if you don't watch the tide.

Red fishing Steinhatchee?

We've been to Steinhatchee several times over the past year and are having trouble finding reds. What are some of the general areas you guys are fishing? I don't need GPS coordinates and don't expect it, just wanting to know general area, depth, what to look for etc. Any tips would be appreciated. T...

Re: Mexico Beach Fishing HELP

That's what I have found so far the Car bodies site and tower sites are pretty hot. I think the weather was just against us the past two times we went out. Considering I'm driving 3 hours from South Georgia, the cost of fuel for the truck and boat, etc etc I will be more picky about going before the...
