Thanks, DixieReb! That trout was aboout 12 inches, but standing next to the little man it looks like a keeper, lol...DixieReb wrote: Good job, Dad! That is one nice sheepie. His trout might have been too small, but it looks big next to him! I bet that little man is hooked now.

He's a good fishing partner, but he hogs all the snacks. We are going to have to work on that part of our partnership.

Re: St. Marks 12/17
Water seemed a little murky, but it was overcast most of the time we were out there, so it was hard to tell. Temp seemed to average around 64 degrees (assuming my bottom finder was giving accurate measures. It seems to be on its last leg).

St. Marks 12/17
Got out on the water at low tide on Saturday afternoon. Ran out to the mouth of the river looking for some inshore dinner. Winds were kicking pretty good and we couldn't get the junk anchor to grab onto anything. So, we went to Shields and picked up a better anchor and ran back out. Finally got it t...

Re: Sea Robin
Caught one a couple weeks ago on an oyster bar. At first I thought it was what we call an "oyster toad", but after looking it up, we found it was a sea robin. This was the only one I've ever caught. They are pretty neat fish. http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g64/orrr89/15391030_1371306989...

Re: Pompano Question
I used to chase them every year. I have done very well at the East End, but the whole bottom structure out there has changed over the years. I quit chasing them when I started chasing turkeys. Had to chose one or the other and turkeys won. They are just okay to eat to me. I don't get the love of th...

Re: Pompano Question
Great info! A bad day fishing for pomps will still be a better than a day at work. Thanks a bunch for all the info! Now I just have to count down the days until spring, lol

Re: Pompano Question
Wow! Can't argue with those results! I've heard people mention "the cut" in passing. Do they seem to be more present in the spring or fall? Also, are the sand fleas more prevalent at different times of year? The first time my family and I went to SGI was in May of 2014 and the sand fleas w...

Pompano Question
This time of year most folks are looking forward to Christmas and New Years as an opportunity to spend time with family, eat, drink and be merry. I look forward to those things too. However, if anyone is like me they are likely looking forward to get through the holidays as it's the last major hurdl...

Parking is scarce and make sure you drop the $5 in the box BEFORE you launch. Otherwise the old lady will come out and yell at you, lol... I know from experience.

Re: Sheephead newb advice
Thanks for the info, silverking. I've only been able to catch them here and there while targeting reds and other fish, but I never really knew how to target them. They are definitely a good pull and a good eating fish!

Re: Custom Vinyl Decals in Tally/Crawfordville
Scoop Sea, I was thinking there was one here in Crawfordville. I think that's the one.
Silver king, I will give James a call too. I'm curious to see what the cost will be to have it done.

Re: Custom Vinyl Decals in Tally/Crawfordville
Both, actually. I found a good deal on a 21 ft hydrasport that I think will float a little better than the other one, lol. But it's got an older evinrude on it, so I'm keeping the other as a backup in case I need I need it. Also, investing in a SeaTow membership before trying to take it on the water.

Custom Vinyl Decals in Tally/Crawfordville
Wondering if anyone has advice on where to go in the Tally or Crawfordville (preferably) area? I need to get my boat name made up and applied.
