I'm glad to find another Keaton Beach fisher. I fish with friends there, but my home area is Suwannee. Still looking for a Suwannee fisher.
Gulp is the most productive for me, but expensive. I start with the lower cost SWA or DOA. If nothing then Gulp.
Several fishers suggested top water. I could ...

120 volt Marine Radio
I have a fish camp at the mouth of the Suwannee River and I fish inshore. I have been trying to find a 120 volt marine radio for my fish camp. Bass Pro Shop, Cabella's, West Marine do not carry them nor could they suggest a place to purchase one.

I fish the area from Suwannee River to Keaton Beach. Does anyone know of a chat site dedicated to that area?

Which knot to use
I used to use a blood knot. It works fine but is hard to do correctly. Now i use a double uni-knot. It is easier to make and it has never slipped .
BAIT FISH
Different parts of the state have different names for bait fish. Could someone inform me which of the following are the same bait fish:
menhaden, threadfin, pilchard, pig fish, google eye, white bait, grunts.
Also where could I find pictures of them.

Grass on Grubs
When grub fishing grass frequently gets on the hook. Does anybody know what effect this has on fish. Will trout, reds or flounder still hit the grub? Also any suggestions on how to not get grass on hook.

REDBONE RODS
I have three bait casting and one spinning rod. I am very satisfied with all of them. I am an inshore fisher and these rods are perfect.

Trout Leaders
I use either power pro or mono in the 8# to 15# range and I have recently started using wire leaders because of cut offs. Mirrow lures are very expensive and I'm tired of losing them. When using grubs or bait I use 20# flurocarbon leader.
My question is does wire turn trout off? I seem to get less ...

Thanksgiving at St. Augustine
Some additional good restaurants are: Conch House, Gypsy Cab, Le Pavillion and Salt Water Cowboys. I can't help with guides, but the inshore fishing should be tops at that time of year.

In the past I have had good success with terror-eyz and shrimp. Lately though, I have not had much luck with them. That is fishing!!!

Fishfinders Chartplotters
After much research I have selected a Garmin GPSmap 188C for my new Key West 216 Bay Reef. There are many good units available, I would rather err on the side of having more than I need than less. At first I was concerned about a single unit for both functions, loose one loose both. However, the new ...

Key West Boat
I think I am close to finalizing terms on a 21-6 Bay Reef. I have shopped three dealers and the best deal is from Bob's Marine Village in Lake City. The quoted boat price is more than the other dealers but the trade in allowance is so much better. The bottom lone is what really counts. Did you say ...
