Re: Flats reports???
I worked all day but got out about 6 PM to find the water glass like. Went to the edge of the SP grass flat and threw a Gurgler fly. First cast was a good indicator of what was to come as the Ladyfish were slashing and slamming the fly. Only fished from about 6:15-7:15 and didn't get any of the targ...

Re: Bottom Paint
Steve, thanks for the response and the info on sacrificial anodes. I also have a Seaark. It's a 2012 and was a fresh water boat until I bought it 3 seasons ago. I live in Montana and typically come down here (wife's down here for the winter) twice a month so the boat was never in the water for long ...

Bottom Paint
Morning, for the first time in my life I've got to spend more than a week at a time down here in Florida and for the second time this month I have gotten some tiny barnacles on my aluminum boat which have been a major PITA to scrub off. Never again says I. * Who would you recommend I take the boat t...

Re: Last Post On This Site
Great, happy day before 1 month anniversary of your membership. Your gifs and memes really add a lot to the site. Oh, I meant the info you provide on boats and fishing adds a lot to the site and I enjoy reading it. The other is childish tripe.

Re: Fishing Report - Last few Trips
Thanks for the recommendation. That's a healthy size bull. Last summer had a shark that size, looked like a bull, swim underneath the boat about 2.5 mi off shore drifting along a floating grass line. Those experiences are worth the trip. My buddy had a bull shark attack and take away a large Jack t...

Southern Gent, Are you just an azzhole or what? Do you honestly think "This site will be diminished without you contributing." is accurate. Not trying to be a jerk, just real. Im sorry if I offended you. How would you have any idea? Even a noob like me has read enough posts from CSMarine ...

Re: New cobia regs
Quick question. The website I found that mentions the March 2020 increase to 36" for cobia lists it as a change for federal waters, and shows state waters still at 33". Can anyone clarify what's the limit if I stay in state waters? It's still 33" in Florida's Big Bend. If you don't h...

Big Rig FD
Man, for a flyfisherman, the Big Rig pedal drive is aces. I have a 2014 Big Rig, paddle kayak that I'll be putting up for sale soon but wanted to give a quick update on the F&B of the Big Rig pedal Cadilyak. * Hands free fishing * Flyrod storage for up to 4 rods, I typically take 2 * Clean, open...

Re: last three months fishing reports
Dudewheresmygurgler, thanks for posting these! I'm not a Facebooker and always enjoy watching, listening and learning from you and Captain Evan. Loved his 5 things to look for when creek fishing. I'm a newbie to salt/inshore fishing and you guys provide some strategies and things to think about. Kee...

Re: 1/15
Just an FYI that I went out yesterday from SP and got my hat handed to me. My buddy was spin casting and threw the box at them and I was tossing flies and didn't sniff a fish. Conditions were great but I have to assume the cold temps during the week moved the fish and/or put them off the feed.

Re: 1/15
Got into them on Sunday with a White Gurgler. Got at least 15 trout and had another 15 hits or fish on briefly. All keeper size or better in about 2 hours. First fish I've caught in FLA on surface flies. Dead calm and overcast. Was blind casting but once I found them, I wore that spot out. Kept 3 an...

Re: Removing fish hooks from humans (or fishermen)
The string-yank method is probably the most relevant to try out on the water, and it's as exciting as it sounds. I've done this many times. A couple summers ago I was fishing with a buddy and his 13 year old son and the kid was pulling an improved clinch knot tight with his teeth (he didn't know th...
