Re: Ochlockonee Bay, Alligator Point, and Bald Point 2018 Fi
Went out to bald point today. Wind was coming from the bay and made it more a subtle tide than a high tide. Saw some promising signs though, and broke in the new cast net. Will hit it again this week and see whats shaking.

Re: Keep hand sanitizer on the boat and use it!

Re: Keep hand sanitizer on the boat and use it!
Hand sanitizer is effective as soon as it is evaporated from the skins surface.
I know you meant ineffective. I always laugh when they swab my skin with alcohol to clean it for like 10 seconds (at most). Ummm, that did not kill anything! (or very little). Studies have even shown on equines, that ...

..And as a bonus..
If "alcohol" takes ten minutes to be effective, than how long does one use mouthwash? (also an antiseptic)

Re: Keep hand sanitizer on the boat and use it!
Scary stuff Gary.
Couple of thoughts. Maybe a "real doc" will chime in if one is on here.
Silver: Peroxide is not really a good wound cleaner. It actually does a good job at removing debris because of the bubbling action, but it does not kill bacteria very well.

Re: Keep hand sanitizer on the boat and use it!
I've heard that when stuck by a catfish barb, rubbing slime from the catfish on the wound takes the sting out. True or False? Probably an old wive's tale but I've tried it and it seemed to work. Might have been a "mental" thing. :-D

Re: Keep hand sanitizer on the boat and use it!
