Fun to shine a.light across shallow.water.at.noght. mullet will.jump right in the boat. Flounder gigging around.ths bars especially now as the water cools off can be very productive.
Properly prepared a night on the flats.can be a great.experience. a different world out there after dark.

Spanish
Cook fresh like the day you caught it and it is fine eating
I keep it simple. Leave the skin on. Sprinkle salt pepper and a little old bay. Throw it on the grill till the meat.turns white.

Well since Mexico Beach Ling tournament is mid April say the 14-16 i would say April 15 would be a good bet
March is always a tease. Nice warm days but lots of wind. Water just isn't consistent temperature wise.

I always say tax day. April 15th
We have had a warm winter but like today we can still have some cold spells and those flats cool off quickly. Fish are moving around with the weather.

yep
glad those Rocks keep most people out of that area. i cring when i see the scallopers running through there in the summer.
for a new guy i recommend you run outside till about grey mare and then just ease in there. after a few trips you can have a clear pat on your chart plotter

well we all know in the winter when we have really cold weather the trout stack up in the rivers. when we get a big flush of.fresh water it.seems to push the trout right out of there.
this year has just been a constant flush of freah water ...

fish bite when they are hungry. you can sit on a spot marking fish for hours without a bite. Then suddenly for no apparent reason every drop you get a bite.
my best luck out of st marks is take a 165 heading off the sea bouy and run to 30 to 35 feet of water. look for the stone crab bouys. put out ...
