Offshore Carrabelle

Congrats to friend and Angler Chapin Frazee on his first ever billfish. What a way to catch a sail. Thanks to Chuck Stubbs ( Waterdog) for the great photos. I had just looked at digital cameras the night before but because they didn't have the cheaper Sony in stock at Best buy I decided it could ...

Offshore Carrabelle

The weather cooperated last weekend and we found plenty of legal amberjack on the artificial reefs. Diamond jigs worked extremely well with bucktails and plastics working good.

Grouper fishing was good and we managed eight keepers in 60' of water using cigar minnows with another 25 juveniles ...

lost rod

Looks like some nice fish Tom. Your story of a lost rod brings back a few memories of similiar experiences. One day about eight years ago I was out fishing near K tower on an old airplane wreck. A friend hooked up to a fishing line and decided to pull in the line just to see what it was attached too ...

I have caught two cobia over the years on a banana spoon. One while trolling and one casting. Neither were huge but one was 20lbs.

Left the ramp at 7:00am with a moderate low tide, south wind at 10+ and partly cloudy. Fished live shrimp and mud minnows around the oyster bars and caught 8 nice redfish, the largest two being 25" and six pounds each. My brother and law and fishing buddy Jason "Colecat" Coleman was spooled by what ...

The weather was so bad this past weekend I thought I would write about a week ago Sunday. I took Angie Spears of RMS Marine Supplies and her friend Keith for a day of skinny water redfishing. Angie had purchased an inshore trip I donated to the Big Bend Saltwater Classic Banquet last June and after ...

Got one for my birthday a few years back and it's great, until you drop it in the water. Mr Boga is very proud of them because they aren't cheap. I use it for every species from amberjack to redfish. Solid surgical stainless steel so it won't rust. Berkly came out with a similar tool that it doesn't ...

Offshore, WHo are you going out with over in Venice? I have been trying to put together a trip over there for the last two years but it hasn't happened yet.

New moon, extremely low tide, I had to go redfishing no matter what. Matt Claps (future brother in law) and I arrived at the Aucilla ramp at 10:00am and dropped the boat in what little bit of water there was. Weaving through the trout boats, which were already thick in the river, we headed to the ...

Saturday was another exceptional day at Lanark catching redfish in skinny water. With the fog thick and NE winds a blowin we left the ramp at about 7:30. Loaded with gold spoons, live shrimp, finger mullet, and an assortment of flies. We started where we found the fish two weeks ago on the same ...
