Econfina 6/18
Left the ramp at about 9:00am with my Father-In-Law and headed to the flats. Fished just west of the river in 6-8ft. Nothing for about 45 minutes then I hooked into a very "nice" fish. Thought it was maybe a redfish the way it started running. Finally got it closer to the boat and realized...

I have been using the Renegades also, they are by far the most comfortable sunglasses I have ever worn. However, the model I used to buy they no longer sell. They fit my face perfect (no light coming form the sides) and were very light. I bought another Renegade that is similar but not quite as good...

Econfina 4/29
Finally got to the coast since last year and what did we find? WIND. But we gave it a try anyway. Winds stayed up at 15+ all day. Started fishing at about 9:30 and all day the fishing was a little slow and sporadic. Caught 7 keeper and about 15 short trout all day and one bluefish. Tried to catch so...

Also remember that forecast if for a pretty large area. From the SUWANNEE RIVER TO APALACHICOLA and includes near shore and off shore. So with that large an area it can be doing one thing in Apalchicola when its completely different near the Suwannee river. But yes I agree they do usually predict on...

Are you asking fisherman who buy twenty different colors of a three inch grub, or spend $30 on a spool of fishing line, or own two+ tackle boxes full of lures or buy pliers that cost over $100 or buy fishing reels in excess of $200 and...

Keaton Beach 10/16
Had planned on going to Econfina but with the low tide of -.5 ft were not concerned about trying to come back in on such a low tide if we had to (low tide was at 10:30am) So we ended up heading to Keaton Beach to be safe. Left marina about 7:30 and fished a little south of channel for most of the mo...

Do not use WD40 as it is a slovent and leaves a oily film that does not really help in lubrication of ball bearings and gears. I rinse my reels off with slow moving water such as out of a hose with no nossle or a sing faucet. Below are some links for reel cleaning. http://www.lakeforktacklerepair.co...

how do you guys usually jig them? As said either on a CT or just straight line. I will usually try both. Sometimes the CT works better sometime no CT works better and sometimes both work well equally or not well equally. Usually I will fish one way and my partner the other until we find the right p...

I usually use 8lb or 10 lb mono main line. If connected to a cork/cajun thunder I will usually tie on 17 lb fluorocarbon leader. If I then get lots of cutoffs due to spanish mackeral or bluefish I will then tie on a 40 lb mono or fluorcarbon leader. If connecting to a jig or other lure direct I usua...
