Finally got to the coast since last year and what did we find? WIND. But we gave it a try anyway. Winds stayed up at 15+ all day. Started fishing at about 9:30 and all day the fishing was a little slow and sporadic. Caught 7 keeper and about 15 short trout all day and one bluefish. Tried to catch some pinfish but no takers for our bait. Fought 1 to 2 foot waves most of the day and it wore me out. Water is very stained and murky. Fish came anywhere from 8 feet to 4 feet deep. All on CTs with jigs. Color did not seem to matter. Tried straight jig but no bites, seemed to need the CTs to get their attention from all the waves. But figuring in strong winds, dirty water, just passed cold front and small tides I figure we did o.k. Left the water at about 5:00. Was very glad to be slinging corks for a change, been to long. Hope to get back soon.

A good report with all that wind and waves. We were there Thursday and encountered the same elements....high wind and waves. Fished back toward Aucilla and did about like you did. Lots of shorts....and 10 keepers. But very rough. :-? Most were caught on C/T with jigs. Water temp was 63.5.
