Fishing Shows
As a lead-in to the weekend I like the shows that come on Thursday night. Saturdays and Sundays are too valuable to be watching and I wish there was more coverage during the winter months. The Florida Fishing Report I like since it reports current conditions, has a mix of features and brings me back...

stainless or alum?
I recently repowered with a 40HP Yamaha that came with an aluminum propeller. I want a backup and have a chance to buy a used stainless steel prop and wonder if that would make sense since most of my boating involves shallow water, oyster bars and rocks. By all accounts a stainless will perform bett...

Works Perfectly
Thanks again, Wevans. I circled Oyster Bay on Friday and caught some small reds and a flounder. Having a functional depth finder makes a big difference.

Hey Wevans, Once it cooled off last evening I got busy installing the new fishfinder hookup until the mosquitoes ran me in. I plan on being on the water Friday and will give it a try. Very much appreciate your assistance. I would like to print you a nice view of your home waters - will try to get th...

Need Help on Transponder Problem
I have been using the bottom rung Hummingbird fish finder for several years. Recently the bracket broke and the transponder banged behind the boat for the day and now it is not recognized by the electronics. I will probably end up buying a new unit but wonder if it is practical to keep the electroni...

Any other experiece with www.boats.net?
I have been looking at the http://www.boats.net mentioned by pennfish and wonder if anyone else has had experience with them. The prices seem good but the site says they do not ship Yamaha or Honda engines and they come without controls. Lake Placid is a long way but I could get there on a work trip...

Sorry about my typing, redbelly. Kind of like when I registered my screen name and learned how to spell skeg later.
I would like to learn more about the 40HP Nissan. Shortshaft? Tilt / trim? Any repairs?
PM is fine.

Motor Alone?
I am looking to repower preferably with a 40HP but 50 would be a thrill. Is there any chance of splitting between Redberry and myself and if so what would you ask for the motor alone?
