Re: Who remembers?

Remember buying hooks in the early 50's in little wooden tubes..they'd be worth something today. Store bought lead came in little metal cans with slide covers. also remember that my first tackle box was a snuff can.. spare line wrapped around a stick. all braided nylon or cotten.. :o

Re: Who remembers?

I remember tipping dog fennel arrows with a bottle cap..take a pair of pliers and crimp it over the end.
Make your fishing lead from straps off an old battery..flatten it on the anvil and cut the sinkers with a cold chisel.. square sinkers.

Re: Who remembers?

Those of you raised way back in the country: Can you remember the rolling stores that used to come by once or twice a week. The ice truck that came by a couple days a week in summer. Washing the kerosene lamp chimneys.. When the REA finally built a power line by your house Grandma churning butter.. ...

Re: Looking for chartplotter recommendations

Look under area charts, waypoints, on this forum menu.. It'll give the coordinates of quite a few rocks. Most of these are the better known.. Still an incredible number out there not listed.. Just run slow and be careful . :o

Re: Trailer lights

I put led's on my trailer and had no more light problems.. Think they cost about 40 bucks and probably took 30 minutes to install...I soldered the leads and used shrink wrap for insulation.

Re: Tiger sharks

Dunno bout tigers but I just got home from enconfina today and the blacktips were everywhere. I hooked one that I guessed was a blacktip that almost spooled a 9500 penn. We had to run him down with the boat before he took all my line and finally threw the hook. Got a rope on one that had to weigh 50...

Re: Helen Ga. in July

Take a light spinning rod and some rooster tails with you..Chattahoochee runs right through town. I've fished it and Smiths creek several times in the past couple years with fly equipment but you can catch em on spin tackle. You will need a trout stamp. Stop at Unicoi outfitters going into town and ...
