Re: Who remembers?
I remember most all that, JT, having been raised in the 40/50's. Looking back it seemed like a simpler time, and I'm thinking it was. One of the first toys I had was what we called a tractor.. a half gallon syrup can filled with dirt with a strand of bailing wire run through it and looped to make a handle. The edges of the can would make rooster tails, when pulled around my grandma's dirt yard.
Re: Who remembers?
I remember them syrup cans too.. For some reason up here the kids called em packers..guess cause they packed the dirt to some extent. also remember the brushbrooms they used to sweep those same yards.. gallberry bushes wrapped with haywire.

Speaking of 8 Tracks. Pink Floyd "The Wall" is the only album I ever had on 8 Track, Cassette, CD and now on my IPod. Though I never owned the album.MudDucker wrote:I remember all of those and 8 track!
A little off subject, but interesting.
If we were all crazy, Wouldn't that make us all normal.

Remember buying hooks in the early 50's in little wooden tubes..they'd be worth something today. Store bought lead came in little metal cans with slide covers. also remember that my first tackle box was a snuff can.. spare line wrapped around a stick. all braided nylon or cotten..
