I had almost the same issue... a friend of mine gave me 3 years worth of waypoints that went anywhere from steinahatchi to carrabelle. I already had many waypoints added to my gps from either creating them or finding them on the web.....I used GPS BABEL to convert all his Garmin waypoints to my lowr...

the "datum format" can cause a difference/offset in locations
