Sir reel/Cran, If you're looking for some training tips or general bird dog talk (as oppossed to general talk from Birddog-jk BD-we love your posts) I recomend you look at uplandjournal.com. There are many skilled trainers and breeders that post on that forum (they also have an interesting fly-fishi...

Barry, If you want to see an impressive nose, then we'll have to get you out behind my father's llewellin, Chester, some day. Remarkable nose, but a little too "wired" for my current lifestyle. Also, along with Ron and Crans' comments, although most are trained to retrieve it is not their ...

Ron, Great picture and beautiful dog. As follow-up to Rocket. Do you breed labs or solely train them? Do you only train flushers, or do you have pointing labs as well? I have been looking for a lab pup for a couple months, but I haven't found exactly what I am seeking. Looking for a male, chocolate ...

went there last thursday for an evening trip to check it out for myself. No scientific conclusions, but here is some first hand experience. First thing I noticed was the "high bacteria level, swimming not recommended sign" that had been placed by the DEP. Next, I noticed the 6-8" of m...

So personal opinion, are you going to quit fishing Wakulla Beach for a while? I see the warning posted above; significant health hazard? If you fish it, would you keep trout? No need for disclaimers on opinions or qualifying any opinions, just looking for a general consesous. WB has always treated m...

poons are definitely around. I saw several rolling in the creeks around the lighthouse last weekend. My buddy hooked one about a 2' that tossed his jig on the first jump. Good work on the reds Charles. That's a fine looking dinner, but you've been making these types of posts for years and I expect n...

What a coincidence; one day you sell my house, the next your the featured sponsor.

Just kidding Barry.

If any of you are looking for a realtor Barry does a fine job.

Thanks for the selling the house and the sponsorship. Money well spent.

sounds like a great idea. I think we all have some of those lures that look great (or we have been told are great), but that never materialized into quality fish. A lure-trade is a similar concept to a poker game I was involved in my last trip to the Everglades. We were camping and not returning to ...

Presnell's as a first choice. St. Joe isn't much further away if Presnell's is full. Also, I believe Presnell's only allows 150/day to launch and also charge $10. St Joe is free without a maximum boat limit. The scalloping area you reference is approximately 6-7 miles from Eagle Harbor.
