Re: Inshore live bait reel?
I use an older model Okuma baitfeeder spinning reel. I had problems with sudden backlashes using an old clicker Ambassador when something seriously big grabbed it. It has caught from smallish trout to a 6 foot bull shark. Worked well on all. Getting older now and may be time to replace.

I have heard them called casting spoons and the Kastmaster was the brand we used for spanish. Just flutters when you stop reeling and spanish attack

Re: Saturday trip
St Marks - went east yeah, it was like 74 in the am when we got there at about 7:45. Surprised me. I actually jumped in later in the day on a bar to cool off and was surprised how cool the water was in about 3 feet. I tried topwater early in the am and had a lot of follows with that telltale redfish...

Saturday trip
Water was cooler than expected, but warmed up quick. Fished along grass lines and into some creek mouths. Wound up with 10 reds and one trout. All the reds were cookie cutter - 19-21". Had a very cool encounter with a manatee. It just followed us for about 5 minutes. We were just drifting and i...

Re: Boat Flooring Question -
Sea Dek came on my Xpress. So far, so good. Easy clean up with 1600psi pressure sprayer. Other than the cat scratching it up, it is holding up very nice. It is stored in a barn. I will have more opinions in a year or so.

Re: Tournament Question: Seeking Input
I get what y'all are saying, but if I were fishing for 2 days at the coast, I would very likely keep my two legal redfish and eat them. I love redfish to eat. I keep very little fish to freeze so only keep when I intend to eat it soon. Isn't that what most folks do? PS Before someone says something,...

They scoot their butt on the bottom of the boat when you land them.ropeman wrote: ↑May 31st, 2022, 3:55 pmHow can you tell if they have worms without cleaning them?Just a Guest wrote: ↑May 30th, 2022, 8:38 pm Just an FYI, all the trout we caught Sunday had worms. We didn’t bother to keep a single fish today. Have others noticed the same thing?

Re: Aluminum vs Fiberglass for our area
I chose aluminum after moving over from a glass. 90% of my time is spent in the rocky areas and the boat I chose will be doable for my time in the other areas. Will not be as smooth as the glass in the rougher water, but the glass is not as tough where I usually fish. It is all a tradeoff. We will s...
