Econfina!

Post by Bonecracker »

Took my Dad fising yesterday afternoon. We left Thomasville around 11:30 and could not wait to wet a line!! Would have been there earlier, but some damn unmarked Blue Dodge Police car gave me a ticket going through Miccosukee! He said I was going 42 in a 35! He gave me a deal and said it only cost me $120.00! :o Nice Guy!! Be carefull guys!

Got my boat in the water around 1:15 and headed for a good creek mouth around Marsh Harbor that had produced in the past. Spooked a nice school of puppy reds around the oyster bars in front of Marsh Harbor. I got a good look at them and really did not see anything that looked like a keeper so I kept on going. Headed on into the creek mouth and found a good hole and started working my Gulps. Nothing but small pinfish. I stuck with it moving around a little and nothing. Moved out on the flats in front of Marsh Harbor, and picked a small trout on Catch 2000. He was 15/16 inches long and I threw him back because the action was slow. Looked for that school of puppy reds around the oyster bars, but they were gone!! Headed back to the Econfina area and had about an hour to fish. We had to leave around 4:30 due to Birthday party at home so time was short. No boats on the flats just one sitting in a creek mouth. We did the same thing and found a nice hole inbetween two oyster bars. I picked up two 18/19 inch trout on a Catch 2000 and dad got nothing. I threw them in the live well since they were nice fish, but later threw them back for someone else to catch. Two were just not enough to justify cleaning! Nice day on the water anyway you look at it!

Again, watch out going through Miccosukee! They have got a great speed trap going with that unmarked car! Cop told me they were having problems with people speeding through that area! I told him I had not been through Miccosukee in three months and was trying to get down to the coast to take my father fishing! Bad thing to say, it still cost me!! :smt014

This could be a related story

MICCOSUKEE-- More than one hundred people showed up Tuesday night to share their views on plans for a new community center in Miccosukee.

Leon County commissioners told residents they won't make a decision about building a new center until after the state's legislative session is over. They want to see what happens with the property tax reform issue first.

Building a new center has stirred up debate among the community over whether spending the money on a new center is a good idea.

"I think we're going to have to come to a consensus of what's best for the community and what will serve the entire community and reunite us again," said longtime resident, Charlene Bevis-Reese.

It would cost more then two million bucks to build a new center. Leon County only has a little more than a million budgeted for it.
If we were all crazy, Wouldn't that make us all normal.

Is Miccosukee a city or county? In Georgia or Florida? Doesn't matter in Ga.
State radar law says they can't charge you till your 11 miles per hour over the speed limit (unless in a school zone). Its suppose to prevent speed traps and abuse of state permitted radar units being used as income generators cities and counties. I suspect Florida law probably has a similar grace.....and of course, you will have to point the law out to the judge for him to honor it for you. Good luck info to know for the next time...
