I finally got keeper trout slim on the boat for '07.
I left the house at home Friday before we left, figured we'd tell time by the sun, on the water when came up and on the trailer when it went down.

Saturday doesn't strat off as good as thought it would. Some jack leg backs down the ramp, gets out, unstraps the back then loads evrything including the sink from his truck, gets in to crank up and after15 minutes gets he what nots in order and launches. I know there is another ramp right beside it, but did I mention the other jackleg tied up to the walkway down the middle. I may not be fastest unloader here but my stuff is in order when I get there. Any way, fish from the channel out a few miles and wife catches first fish a fat 18" on Nuclear Chicken Gulp! under a CT. We decided to find my folks and try some numbers in 25'-30' for some rock bass and maybe a few grouper. We follow Mom & Dad back in, grab some cut bait and head that way. Catch a few short rock bass, which is great fun on trout rods, and head to few other spots. Drop lines and cut bait, a few break offs later I decide to let the wife and Dad fish and keep the hooks baited. The wash down pump quits. Ain't that a, well they keep fishing and keep rinsing with coke bottle. We finally decide to head back and Dad decides he'll pull the anchor, which free falls 30' down taking the coiled rope with it. Well, I'll buyanother one.

3-25
Head out as the sun comes up, sorta, to find the ever elusive trout. Fish the same area as the the day before, nothing happening wife getting a little bored. Hello boat ride. Head up to Spring Warrior, a bunch of short strikes on her CT. Hello Mr. Boat Ride, head a few more miles north. I started throwing a Mirrolure Catch 5 with gold sides and clear bottom. Fish on, my wife wakes up just in time to net my fine 20" trout :D :D . I keep throwing my Mirrolure, she keeps throwing her CT. Fish on, she agains gets to net a 15" trout that gets to fight another day. I thought it would bring good mojo the boat. It did, sorta. We continue this drift and low and behold, there are five or six sheepsheads circling my bait :o . Lockjaw was rampent with these picky eaters. The wife stops sunbathing long enough to pitch, what else< her CT and Gulp! and we watch as they mouth it, bump it, swim off , swim back, bump and are finally done with it. We (I) see a few reds cruising over a nice sand bar and start casting like a mad man. Nothing doing with them either :smt013 . Head backand find the same jackleg (see above)loading up as the wife backs the trailer down the ramp. I guess he owns the ramp and asks why am I loading up ther when the Marina has a perfectly good lift. Clean the Mom and Dad's camper and head to Moultrie.

All in all a great time with wife who is now semi-bsun burnt, but she grow up on the beach and don't need no sun screen.

  You did alright. I don't like goofy people at the ramp, either. We saw a guy at Aucilla trying to launch by himself, had a lead rope tied to his trailer to keep it from drifting off but he had the rope too short and kept trying to rock the boat off and it wouldn't move. I said something to him about his rope being too short and he ignored me. When he did get it off the trailer, his rope was untied and he was gonna let the boat drift away. We had to catch his boat. Glad yall got a few. :smt004
