Fishing out of Lanark past weekend

Post by BlueH2OFisherman »

Left out of Lanark Saturday morning. Man it was beautiful. Here is pics between Dog Island and land and west end of Dog with the sun rise.

We trolled in 45 ft to start and only pulled on keeper and a couple of shorts. My buddies Michael Niekro, Jamie Cantrell and Justin Rider joined me. This was Justin's first trip on the ocean and here is his 1st Grouper.

We then went to 55 ft and only one so we decided to head to 85 ft of water. Hooked up on our limit of red grouper and a few gags. Snapper were everywhere. Jamie hooked in a big fish that I thought was a big grouper. Nope, a very large snapper. I was cussing wishing it was April 22nd!! :smt013 Oh well.

He was put back to catch on April 23rd or around that time. Water temps ranged from 63 to 67 and bait was moving in out there. Can't wait for the rest of the year. Forgot to take pics of the entire catch but ended the day with 12 grouper, few grunts and a lane snapper.

Great day with friends!! :smt006
