Fishing licence.

On your own land , you have, or dig out, a lake.
You stock it with fish at your own expense.
Say, trout and bass.

Do you need a State licence to fish for those fish ?

Exemptions:

Any person fishing in a fish pond of 20 acres or less which is located entirely within the private property of the fish pond owner. A fish pond is a man-made pond constructed for the primary purpose of fishing, entirely within the property lines of the owner and with no surface water connection to public waters.

Thanks Tom, that seems a sensible arrangement.

In the UK, you would have to buy a National Rivers Fishing Licence, with a trout endorsement.
There are attempts being made here, to change the law for owners and guests, on private land.

No licences are required to fish in the sea, or tidal waters.
Which is one reason why the sea fishing here is not very productive.
Years and years of overfishing.
No size limits, No bag limits and No Officials who care.
Your system may not be perfect, but you HAVE a system.

I also believe you can sell game fish caught in a private pond, in Georgia anyway. You do have to get a permit. I consider the fish in my pond to be my property, no different than any other livestock.

However, in Georgia the exemption applies only to the owner and family.
