A little Help! Charleston, SC catching Redfish
I plan on fishing Charleston, SC for Redfish in a couple of weeks. Anyone got some good information on fishing that area?
I lived out on Folly beach for several years, I know the area pretty well, but never did any Kayak fishing. From downtown head over the James Island connecter bridge, take a left on Folly Road, toward the beach. As you get out close to the beach you will start seeing creeks on both sides of the road, there are places to pull over on the side of the road and put in. There is an old seafood restaurant on the right, I think it has shut down, but it's right on a good looking creek and you can park in the lot there. Or if you go all the way to Folly there is a public boat ramp on the right. From there I'm sure there are any number of creeks you could explore in a yak. Also, if you take a right off of the connector bridge on Folly road, you will eventually cross a draw bridge, on the right hand side, right over the bridge there is a boat ramp, I believe it's called Wapoo Cut, there are a lot of creeks around there as well. Be careful of those tides, they can be huge, not like the easy going gulf. Be sure to go to Snapper Jacks on Folly and get a beer after fishing
