Got the "ok" to fish late saturday afternoon, and I gotmy 6 year old daughter, Camryn to tag along for the adventure. We stopped by Jerry's to pick up the boat, and to get some shrimp from Scott--but he was long sold out. He did show us a nice picture of very large bull shark caught in front of the lighthouse earlier that day, though. :o

We put in at Sheilds about 4:00, just in time for the wind to let up. Our first stop was the west flats. We fished there for about an hour between 4 and 6' of water using gulps under a CT. We got one break off, and landed a small (what looked like a hammerhead) bonnet (?) shark. (Also realized at this point that I left the camera on the kitchen table :smt009 ).

With the wind now very calm, we headed to the east flats--starting in about 5' of water. We quickly caught a couple of small trout as well as a couple of sailcats in shallower. The bite stopped in about 3' of water. So we ran back out and started in about 7' of water. We caught more small trout and two reel nice spanish. Again, the bite slowed in less than 4' of water. We headed back out one more time, we caught a nice blue, and more small trout (in fact, no trout bigger than 13/14").

We called it quits about 7pm, and headed back in time to load the boat up and catch dinner and entertainment at the riverside cafe.

All in all, plenty of action on the east flats to keep us busy for a couple of hours. And it was time well spent with the little one.
