I had this bird on the ground at 7:25 am last saturday.. He was sneaking in to beat the boss to the hot hen.....

22lbs...1.25" spurs...10.5" beard.

Not too good. 1 bird gobbled 2x. I got set up. Never heard him again. I think the wind got him. :roll:

Sorry to hear that. hope your son didn't get discouraged. I have elected to stay out of the raw wind today. Going to that boat store in
Tallahassee....and wings at Hooters! :D

I have a couple of memories of April 1st weeks cold blast with wind and going to only hear 1 or 2 gobbles at most.
Hunt the afternoons where you heard them gobble that morning around 4:00. Scratch leaves and cluck and purrrrr....
