ST. Marks 7/9/03

Left St. Marks this AM 9:30, with my wife and son and his friend.
Wanted to try the West flats for a change, caught a few pinfish left of the
channel then headed West a couple miles, quickly caught my largest trout yet
21 inches, on a pinfish under a CT.

That took the pressure off, if you can call fishing pressure, spent the next couple
of hours catching shorts and few assorted others, but boys still had fun.
Decided to use trolling motor around oyster bars near east river. No keepers
but several short trout which kept it interesting, I had expected rock bass or
catfish, maybe a red, but trout was good. Weather was great, seas 6 inches,the wind picked up
later in the afternoon cooling thing off a little.
