Gray"night"mare

Post by CATCH 22 »

Despite cold, rain, wind I figured I'd give it a go. My 8yr old girl Megan has been feeling left out with her brothers recent success fishing and has been pleading for me to take her out,so, with the recent weather I figured today we could get out there and not get hammered too badly. Gave away most Smoked Mackerel from last trip so headed out to 8" and started trolling about noon,5 miles worth later finally had a rod bending so I put it in neutral got the rod and handed it to Megan. Showed her how to hold the rod, reel in the right direction which she did and in short time had it alongside. "DADDY WHAT DO I DO NOW?!!!"She asks,so I tell her to pull it in over the side, "I CAN'T, IT'S TOO HEAVY" so I take the rod and bring it in. A nice 24" Mack goes in the box. We trolled for an additional 24miles worth with only 2 more keepers and 2 shorts ta count for. said the heck with it and headed to some numbers around graymare that has always produced for me. Threw the kitchen sink at em without a nibble :smt011 did'nt see but 2 others out and looked like they had similar results. Well, win some lose some. Cant wait til back feels better so I can go Offshore. Doc says another Month maybe. Water temp from 3' TO 20' never got over 64.5 with lowest being 59.9, C'MON SUN WHERE ARE YA :smt010

 Very well done, C-22 Dad - Megan know's her dad is #1! :P Be thankful you did that well...water temp really is low right now. Tis the time of transition. :smt010 We know it gets better later this month. Take the lass out when the trout bite goes hot again - soon, I think!
