GPS deptfinder combo.

Post by DF 1860DLX »

Hey everybody out there I'm new to the board but I have a question about GPS combos. Are any of yall running the hummingbird 383c or the 595c, i'm thinking about purchassing one but I would like to see some feedback on the units first. This will be going on a 18 foot G3 boat, so I don't need a really high dollar one B/C I usually only go out a few miles.

I had a hummingbird about 8 years ago and the customer service was the worst I have ever seen. Unit never did work right. Do not know about now and never will. Fool me once.....

For about the last 9 months or so I've been running a hummingbird 737c with a Navionics Gold (SD) chip in it. I have had no problems and the unit has worked magnificantly since purchase. the chart detail is remarkable, and as far as the fishfinder it's right on target for what I'm looking at fishing or diving. This is the first hummingbird I've ever owned and it's hard to compete with. I've had Lowrance and Garmin machines onboard and this is actually the first "combo" machine I've been satisfied with. The only downside to the whole unit is that the GPS reciever and barometer accesories are a little price, but worth the extra buck.

One Guy's opinion take it for what it's worth...

There is one in "For Sale" like my old one. I've had mine for six or seven years and it works great.

Not a bad price if it's been cared for...but I'm sure you can buy a new one for about twice that price and get a waranty too. I've been well pleased with Garmin, they are be my first choice.
