Indian Pass, 4/21

Challenged myself this year to investigate some new territory and Indian Pass has been on my list for quite a while. Being the western range of Apalachee Bay it is estuarine and its turbidity doesnâ€™t allow for much seagrass. The oyster bars are extensive and given the amount of relief the area is tough for boating â€“but ideal for a kayak. I fished Saturday morning and had trouble reading the bars and finding the deeper cuts adjacent to the bay that I figured would hold fish. I did eventually find the redfish but only after a lot of looking and after I gave up on topwater.
Caught 9 and all were in the upper end of the slot.

The wind made for tough travel and chased me home by 10:00.
I really liked the place & will return when the bars are more exposed and I can negotiate the territory better.
