St. Mark's 4/22/07

Post by Ron Wilson »

Made an early morning run to St. Mark's with my daughter and a buddy of mine. Beautiful day. Launched around 0845, first bait in the water by 0930. Ran East and fished deeper water most of the day (5'-7'), but did get in shallow a could times. Threw everthing in the box (live shrimp, live pinfish, plastics, lures, GULPs, etc.) Didn't catch much, but did have a good mix (trout, spanish, blue, flounder, ladyfish, catfish). All but one of the trout were short. Had a live pinfish floating behind the boat under a CT on a Penn Live Liner. Something grabbed the bait and was off and running; live liner was smoking. Never saw it; bit off. Headed West for a peak and managed a couple more short trout. Boat on the trailer around 1600, grabbed some lunch, then made the trip back to Albany.

Brought home:

2- Spanish
1- trout (around 17")
1- good size blue (20+)
1- flounder
"Plan for the worst."
