Any Reports from St. George??

Post by grim reeler »

We are heading down tonight. I hope to get on the water a couple times. Has anyone heard much on fishing activity there recently?

eastpoint end of causeway during strong tide. Get on the bridge side throw a raw 3/4 jig head with live shrimp against washout and bump on bottom back across three bars there. Caught over 60 redfish there last trip, several doormat flounder, two trout over twenty. Be sure you have more than enough current or fishing may be slow. Be prepared to anchor parallel to causeway if fish are there as you will burn up a trolling motor trying to stay over the bars! Good luck

Thanks for the tips.

We ended up going out in the boat only a couple times due to the constant bayside wind and chop.

Friday my 6 yr old and I fought the wind and sat behind the causeway out of the chop to let him catch a few cats. Went as much to take him out as anything. We were on the water a little more than an hour.

Saturday it was still blowing so we surf fished and caught pompanos and whiting.

Sunday we went out in the boat and caught reds, spanish and tons of lady fish behind the island. Lots of spanish were being caught off the old bridge.
