H-E-L-P !!!

Post by RodBow »

Please tell me all the reasons why you wouldn't get an '05 Navigator?
aside from:
enough towing capacity to handle the 25',
bells, whistles, extended warranty, DVD's, navigation system, wife's happiness...

Thanks.

Towing a 25' behind a navigator? Would'nt you need a special permit for that :o

Just go ahead and buy it. If I had your money, I'd be tpying this from an island that hasn't been discovered yet.

It's a Ford; I'm a GM guy. Only Ford I have ever owned is an old Mustang I restored in high school that I rarely drive anymore and still put more money in than my GM. I only keep it b/c of ALL the memories I have spending time with my dad under the hood.

If I ever stop buying GM, then I would probably by a Toyota like the rest of the market. If price isn't an issue why not; luxurious, good waranties, run forever, decent gas mileage for the size (tacomas, tundras, 4-runner's, Land Cruisers etc.)

The only thing is my "friends" make fun of me"
...I don't think a new truck won't change that buddy

That reminds me showboat, I have a '67 Mustang with a 289 in it that I've had in storage for over 2 years.

Maybe it's time to put it up on the market....

What engine is in the Navigator, Rodbow?

If it's the 5.4. Ya better be sure it has the heavy duty tow package, to include the oversize radiator, and transmission cooler.

It'll get about 14 mpg around town, and 8 mpg pulling the 25' boat.
What was I supposed to do today?

If you list the Mustang, list it along with a '66 6 cylnder as a package. Maybe we can both get some extra fishing money

Reasons:

#1- Diamonds are a girls best friend, not SUV's. (She won't be happy unless she finds a diamond in the glove box) :hammer:

#2- You may have to get a third mortgage. $$$ (

#3- You won't have enough cash to fo fishing for at least 60 months or more. :x :

#4- People Won’t Like You. SUV drivers have become a target for angry pedestrians, cyclists and other drivers who don’t like seeing super-sized gas guzzlers lumbering down their roads or parked in over-sized spaces on our city streets. SUV drivers get yelled at, flipped off, cut off; their vehicles get plastered with anti-SUV bumper stickers.

#5- They Are Killers on the Road According to a study by the National Highway Safety Traffic Administration, if you are in an accident with an SUV, you are 3.4 times more likely to be killed than if you had been hit by another car. Simply put, on the road, mass wins. Their height, weight and the stiffness of their frames put drivers of smaller cars at great risk for fatalities. Tough luck for the other guy (or woman or child), you might say, but at least I’ll be protected, right? Wrong! SUV's are not safe for their own drivers, either. The higher mass of SUVs make them more difficult to stop. This lack of maneuverability INCREASES the numbers of fatal accidents.

#6 -The Gas Mileage Alone Will Kill You

If it's in your budget and you have that many people to haul, go for it. If you don't have more than four people going with you then a good four door pickup may be better. I guess all of this means nothing if the wife wants the Navigator :smt011 .
