Hey Guys. Been reading for a while, and have run into several of you on the water or around, but haven't stepped up and posted yet. I'm taking the family down to Alligator Point tomorrow, renting a beach house with a dock on the bay, and taking the boat. I've been told, and I called myself to confirm, that the marina at the end of the point is members only, and seems to not make exceptions, even when offered green. I plan to put in at Mashes and run all the way around to the back side dock of the house we're renting. Wouldn't be too bad, and would only have to do it once round trip in a week down there. I've heard tell of a boat launch near the 'S' curve of Alligator Point, but I'm not familiar with it. Maybe on high tide I could get my CS 2180 DLV in there. Plan to at least look. Hope one of you guys are familiar with the landing and can give an opinion.
Hopefully a report with great pictures will be on the way next week.

Yes, there is a boat ramp at the S curve. I think you should be alright there at high tide, if anything it's worth a try. Ya'll will have a blast, I just reserved a house on a canal down there last week for the week July 4th. I take my boat and golf cart down there and have a blast. Take pplenty of pics....
edit: I'm not sure on the deal with the marina ramp. I know alot people get stuck on it (Sandy)

I have launched there (The S-curve ramp) many times. You will be fine if you launch at high tide. At low tides, it is 30 feet or so of pure muck between the concrete and the water. You will have to back way in as the ramp is a shallow one. Be warned that there is a drop off, so go slow.

The more I know about something, the more I know that I did not know as much as I thought I knew that I knew.

The marina is under new management for now. Terrell just left 2 weeks ago for J-ville. I cannot believe that Ted would tell you that you cannont use the ramp. It has always been that you can launch there, just not leave your trailer there. The code used to be the address # but they have changed it and its been wide open everytime i've put in there since the change. Supposedly that is a county easement anyway, from the main road all the way to where the water meets the ramp. However, you will be just fine at the other ramp. I've put my 23 Mako I/B (2' draft) in there many times with no problem on all but below average low tides.
There is also a ramp off of Fiesta drive that you could launch at in any water conditions.
