St. Marks & the Wrecking Crew!

Post by Capt Reggie »

:smt006 Hey, Ya'all - fished out of St. Marks yesterday with son, Tommy, granddaughter, Courtney, her friend, Shelby, & her younger brother, Jarred! :smt007 Gave QueenB my portable 1st Responder VHF Radio & couldn't't make contact with her the rest of the day (8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) Sorry!

The Mangler was offshore (8-12 feet water off # 2 stake) after big macks & blues (trolling Silver spoons, big White Gulp minnows, & Dusters down deep (6 feet on #2&3/4 oz. keel weights) @ 5-6 mph around 1,200 rpm on his 150 HP Yamaha! :lick:

Water temp = 69-72 degrees; Air Temp = 70-80's; Wind = WSW 10-15 mph, slacked to 5-10 around noon - went +15 mph in afternoon!

Fished live shrimp & pinfish under CT's (until we ran out), Mirrolures (silver, gold), Yozuri's (silver, red/gold/clown), Assassin's (Arkansas Shiner, White/Speckled Silver, Candy Corn), Gulp's (New Penny shrimp & crab, Natural, White curly tail, Magnum sized Chartreuse/White Speckled), Slurp's (Space Guppy) & Exude's (Red/Silver, Gold/Silver) around Rock Garden down to Aucilla River rocks.

Caught lots of pinfish (the kids specialty), lost two hog trout on small pinfish :smt005 , caught big bluefish & 3 ft. Blacktip shark on small pinfish :P Lots of throwback trout & Rock Bass, Ladyfish, too, on artificials (Exude, Gulp, Slurp) & nada on Mirrolures & Yozuri's! :smt010

Kids had a grand time, caught lots of fish - made them very happy and ate up all of our food...had to leave @ 2:30! Well, you can't fish with kids and run out of food...my bad! :smt009 8)

Good Report Capt Reggie- Did you have the whole family on board?
Must have been a real BLAST for the kids.
