Quick report. Got a chance to spend the weekend on the water. Saturday with a buddy and Sunday with my girls.

The wind blew a little more than expected Saturday and the morning was tough. We fished some oyster bars before noon and caught a few reds. Moved to some shallow water when the wind laid down and found a few more. Dropped my buddy off at 2:00 and went back out and hosed 'em on the back side of the islands. Loaded the boat at 6:30 . . . a long day.

Sunday was to be a relax on the beach type of outing. Problem is the wind laid down so nicely that I had to abandon my girls for a couple hours to feed some steel to the reds. The first flat was choked with fish. Water was gin clear and glassy smooth. The fish were on sand which made for some spectacular eats. Ended my two hour leave of absence with eight reds, a pompano and some interlopers. A few pics:

And the interlopers. These gals are all over my redfish flats. I watched the first fish swim down a bar toward me from 150 feet away. I put a cast ten feet in front of her, let it lay, and gave it one twitch as she approached. She likey. Also saw one that dwarfed her. :o

It is impossible for me to stay on the beach with my family when the winds lie down and the conditions seem right, I know what you mean. Great pics NFF.
