Mashes Sands 5-5-07

Post by redfisher2424 »

Ran down to the beach this afternoon for a little wade fishing since Im on call and dare not take the boat. Fished for about 1 1/2 hours at one of my old honey holes. Caught 5 trout from 17 to 22 inches and 6 macks and a bunch of little tarpon aka ladyfish. Also went Friday afternoon and caught a couple of trout and reds. While fishing Friday I got one on I thought was a large red, but as it got closer I saw it was a monster trout as it swung by my law stick it was every bit of 30 inches maybe bigger. I got nervous and tried to horse the fish and when I wrap the leader around my hand he broke off 30 lbs test leader with one giant head shake. I should have taken my time in the water like that. That why I went back Saturday looking for that one. But I love that feeling you get when you have a big one on. If that ever stops, Id quit fishing. But its the same when I was 12 and now that I am 30. All caught on the X-rap.
