Port St. Joe: 5/4 - 5/5

Can't add much to the great reports already posted about the tournament, but here goes anyway. Took the wife, daughter and daughter's friend down to fish the tournament. Stayed in the camper at Tyndall AFB; always enjoy that place and it's close to the water.

5/4: Pre-fished 1/2 Friday with not much to show (2- trout, a nice spanish and a decent blue).

5/5: Not much better to report for the first part of Saturday. Fished East, West, and South parts of the Bay, from 1.5' to 8'. Picked up three keeper trout (one 21"+) by 1400. Threw several shorts back. Was wondering if it was simply going to be a slow day. Decided to head back to the South part of the Bay, get in close and let the wind take us out. Had just moved out of the 2' water, standing on the bow when I noticed about 200+ reds barreling down on us. Complete mayhem for about 30 minutes, but managed to boat a nice 26 incher. Weather was great, Bay was beautiful, and had a great time with the girls.

Met some new folks (was good to finally put a name to a face), and it was good to see those I'd met previously.

BD: Nice rig, partner.

Thanks to Advantage Marine for the donations.

TC: You did a great job putting this on, and I appreciate all your hard work.

One pic of the red and the expert "netter."
