I have one and don't know how I lived without it. I haven't talked to a single person who doesn't love it. It is a great tool if you fish in water less than 5-6 feet. Power Pole service is the best as well. About a year after I put it on my boat my cylinder went bad. I called the warranty folks, they diagnosed the problem and I had a brand new and improved cylinder at my office the following morning (the older models had a screw in ram that would sometimes come unglued--they have replaced that cylinder and ram in the current models).
I bought mine from Mike's Marine. Best price I could find and they are good people. I think I got the 6 foot pole installed with a remote (you have to get the remote
) for right around $1200-$1300. Money well spent.

Thanks guys! Capt Ron, does it hold your boat in rough waves and how much flex does it have to allow for the force of the waves? Also, does it have a manual mode if you lost power or had cylinder problems??

If you go outside to pet the new toy today, how about measuring width and height of the base on the power pole. Id appreciate it. I d like to know if it will even fit before I go jew'n on the price!

10-4 redfin. I just dont understand how that little pole can hold a boat as big as mine. Also, if you set it out with the bow towards the grassline and the tides' going out, how do you keep the bow in? Not trying to sound anal about the thing, thats just a big investment for an anchor , especially for a poor boy like me!!!

not anal, it is a big purchase, i was lucky, it was on the boat when I bought her... I typically run my trolling motor on the lowest speeed to help point me when its windy if i can aancor in th edirection i need to ... it pulls just enough tpo keep ya straight but not so hard it pulls the pole in a bad way...BAD BEHAVIOR wrote:10-4 redfin. I have one on a flats boat. Very cool toy. It held me this winter in the river when my buddy in his 19 foot Wellcraft bay boat rafted up to me so we could drink some beer out of the wind. If you get it in decent bottom its pretty strong. Watch that redfish cup tourney on ESPN2 and those Triton 240 LTS they fish on Saturdays all have them.
