Panacea 5-11

Post by bman »

Convinced my wife to make a quick run to Panacea- the promise of Oysters and Beer at Hook Wrecks made it easy for her to agree.
I have never fished out of the Marina there so this was an recon trip

Put the boat in at 6-It was smoky and hazy- I guess from the wildfires...
Ran out a little and stoped to watch Dolphins

Ran a little further out till I got into grass bottom and started throwing top water. First hook up was fun but a little disappointing.

Then i got into the trout!

Of course I lost a couple of nice ones at the boat- and missed a few hits.

Took home four keepers- caught 3 other shorts, 2 ladies and a Sailcat.

Nothing big but enough for dinner after the Parade of Homes tomorrow.
Then we stopped at Hook Wrecks for dinner and a beer...

Fun evening on new water with my wife.

Next time you go there fish the T bar on a rising tide or real close to Piney and Jacks Islands.
There is a oyster bar between Jacks and Piney that usually holds those pesky reds.
