ECONFINA 5-20-07

Post by devans850 »

Woke up around 9am and decided to get the better half and the kids out of the house. So we loaded up the boat and off to econfina. Got to the ramp around 10:30am and decided to head east. Hooked the kids up with CT's and grubs and Erica had her trusty soft jerk bait. After a few casts Erica catches a nice flounder :lick: . I proceeded to tell her I hoped she catches another one, cause that one was spoken for :-D . So back to fishin and she yells get the net, a 19" redfish. I'm thinkin dinner is going to be pretty good. The kids decide they would rather sun than fish, and that was ok too. So we continue down the shore line looking for more reds and one comes up to my skitter walk. He would not strike it, just hanging out under it. So Erica throws the soft jerk bait behind the plug and BAM...21"redfish in the boat. I'm thinking top water is not going to work, but I keep on fishin. After a few minutes Erica is in the back yelling she got something big and I can hear the drag singing. She finally gets it to the boat and it's another BIG flounder :lick: . I say enough is enough and we run out to deeper water and start throwin jigs for trout. I catch three nice trout back to back and Erica tells me its time to go :o and we have plenty for dinner. I TELL HER WE WILL GO WHEN I GET READY  . So I crank the boat up and we head on in :smt009 . We ended the day with two reds, two flounder, and three trout, that made one heck of a dinner.

At least she let you catch a few before giving the order

Dale, I think it was nice of Erica to allow you to catch a few trout.

One of these days I want to be there when you mouth off to Erica. When you do, I'm sure it will be several days before your eyes open back up, and the swelling goes down. :smt005 You better stay on her good side. She's done very well in the last few tournaments.
What was I supposed to do today?
