[/img]Took the girlfriend (for her third trip ever) to Ecky and was looking forward to a day of changing two rods lures, taking off both of our fish, untangling backlashes, etc, etc. Got there at eight( she made me late

) by twelve didnt have a fish on the boat. I had met my buddy down there and agreed to follow him around and fish some of his new numbers. To his credit, he just got his boat and just started fishing Ecky. Actually, he was fishing Aucilla but anyhow, when I was in ten feet of water over a solid sandy bottom, I picked up the mic and said I was heading back to my home waters more or less. I told him if he would like to catch some fish, crank up and try to keep up. Anyways, an hour and a half later we were both limited on trout and they headed for the hill. I told my sweetie lets go try one of my flounder holes. We pick up a couple of shorts and two keepers but the action is slow so we head to try and find a cobe. We pull up to the floating structure everybody just runs by and an hour later we have caught seven cobes, the biggest about 30". We decided by this time it was time to go find some copperbacks. We fished around and landed nine or ten reds but none legal. Enjoyed a beautiful Ecky sunset and headed for the hill. All in all a great day!!! However, in the excitement of my gals first ever Cobia, I had to watch my favorite rod find a new saltwater home.

Just a word of advice, never under any circumstance sit your rod on top of the t-top and expect it to stay!!!! The biggest trout was 22.5, no tourney winners but I can claim a handicap!!!!!
