Got a late start. Didn't leave the fort until 0830. I noticed there were only 5 trailers in the parking lot, and the breeze was kinda stiff. I turned left at the mouth of the river to be met by a 15 mph east wind. It made for a slow ride.

The east wind made it easy to parallel the bank. However, it's difficult to fish when you're moving 15 mph. I did manage to find 4 reds from 21" to 26".

The wind laid down to around 5 mph around noon, then turned out of the southwest. The tide chart called for 0.7' of exchange. But, as best as I could tell, there was no water movement. I eased out off of the bank about noon in search of trout. The bite was slow to say the least. Managed a limit of keepers, and 2 shorts. Nothing spectacular.

The excitement for the day was watching the storm pass from east to west a little inland. Got a few light sprinkles where I was, but not enough to wet my cap.

Back on the trailer at 6 PM. Smother fried pork chops, peas, beans, mashed potatoes, and peach cobbler at Savanahs, and home by 7:30

Not a banner day, but I was fishin.
What was I supposed to do today?

  Sounds like a good trip, TC. I went by myself to Aucilla 3 days ago and caught 2 good trout and 2 keeper seabass, it was slow then, too. :smt004
