St. Joe Bay -Sat/Sun

Post by flatpicker »

Put in at Presnell's at first light both days. Sat being only the second time ever. Pulled in and knew there was a launch fee, $6. If it would have been $10, I wouldn't have complained. The folks at the marina give you your $6 worth - Especially folks who have to launch alone because all the kin folk "want to relax". :o Huh, don't tell them about our secret.

Sat. - headed towards Blacks island, and set up a drift in what look to be about 3-4 ft of water. Drifted the same line until 9:45am and had a limit of trout. Caught 6 keepers and 3 shorts all on topwater. The biggest being 23 inches  Almost knocked him off with net, twice :hammer: .

Sun. - A totally different day for me, with exception of the friendly service at Presnell's. Got there a little earlier and decided to try to find some redfish. Caught one 17 inch early, and headed to the same spot I caught the trout at on Sat. Started fishing, and out of know where, pops 10-12 boats. Got pretty crowded so I eased towards Cape San Blas just to get away :smt012 Caught another 17 inch redfish, one short trout and a barely legal flounder that I released. When the red hit my lure, I almost hit the deck. It was an explosion :o :-D Headed back the ramp around 11am to spend the rest of the day with family.
