St. Joe Bay was on fire today.
Fished in the TOON with Me,Myself and I. Kept 19 trout 18-24 inches and a flounder. Fortunately my son in law and some friends were nearby.
They appreciated getting some nice fish.
I was able to keep keeping.
Stiff breeze out of the East at 12-17 most of the day. Made from some quick retrieves.
Tomorrow should be even better.
Well, day 2 was not better. Took my nephew, Tanner. We fished the same places I fished the day before. Definetly more boat traffic. We did eck out 6 nice keepers for the day.
Saw a large cobia swim past the boat,I flipped a soft jerk bait ahead of him and the fight was on. Unfortunately, NO COBIA. My soft jerk landed in the middle of 40 redfish. They all were competing for the lure. Only one of them won a nice 25" red. Had 2 more hookups with them a little later, utilized the quick release at the boat technique TinCan taught me.

Day 3 Launched about 8 at the State Park with Troutrent and Little Trout. We hit all the same spots as day 1&2. Again the bite was slow.Got to see BirdDog,his lovely wife and good looking kids. Later in the day the wind picked up and the bite got better. Finished up with another 6 good keepers.
Day one I ran out of my favorite soft bait. None were to be found in St. Joe. I can't help but believe if I had my special bait days 1&2 would have been better.
Guess I'll have to find out next time.

I'd be careful Mudducker for a couple of reasons.

1st if you do sink him the ecological impact from the fecal matter on the bay would be so bad you will most likely wind up some stiff fines from the EPA.

2nd no way you will ever get the poop stain off your new boat.
Yesterday it was taboo today it is normal what the heck will they be doing tomorrow?
