Dog Island 5/25/2007

Post by mjsigns »

It was Friday May 25 when I took the whole family out for a fun day at the beach. I put the boat in at Lanark and we loaded up the boat and headed out toward Dog Island. The wind was blowing out of the east at 15-20 and the bay was quite furious throwing 3’s and 4’s with an occasional 5’ for good measure. I hung up my hopes for fishing. The idea was to take the kids to the beach bayside of Dog Island. I was carrying 4 rods one for each of us, just in case we had a chance to fish. The kids were having a ball. They enjoyed the rough ride over the swells on the way to the island. Once we grounded the boat on the beach the kids and the wife went off exploring and playing in the water. The water was somewhat clear with a visibility of about 4 feet. Once the kids had enough they decided it was time to fish. We found some fish holding in 5-6’ of water over grass. The first good hook up went to Travis. He lands a 23â€

Great report...I really like the "victory dance" photos...I think you should make a video of the victory dance and post it on youtube and then the winners on Saturday should have to do it in front of everyone...just a suggestion :-D
