Suwanee Help

I have a friend that has a house on the suwanee and they are wanting me to take them fishing. anyone have any input on the fishing there? i don't read a lot of reports from other forums on the suwanee. what few reports i read just talk about redfish being caught there (definitely not a bad thing), but that is all i see posted. no trout or other species. any input would be much appreciated.

in or off shore?

Spanish at spotty bottom

Trout and Spanish on the grass beds. Reds on the bars and in the bayous.

Grouper pinkmouth and black sea bass 25 - 35 miles offshore.

shows how much i know about it. all i know is they have a house on the river and we will be fishing inshore cause that is all i do. i just assumed there was one area at the suwanee kinda like econfina or aucilla. thanks so much for your help and any additional info will be appreciated.

Most of the fishing I have done out of Suwannee has been offshore but here is my opinions on the places I have been inshore. Two ways to go, if you are going north you will go out of Mcgriff Channel. You can head up towards Horseshoe Beach and the water and grass flats reminds me alot Econfina/Keaton area. A lot of the locals fish around "outlaw bar" this time of year. Double Barrell and Bumble Bee are the two creeks I've had the best luck in to the north.

If you want to head south you can run out of East pass. Most of the fishing I have done out this way is fishing around bars, cuts, and in the creeks. My two favorite creeks to the south are Big Trout and Little Trout. If you run this way be sure you know where Lone Cabbage Bar is.

There are a lot of fish caught to the south but this time of year I would probably head north to around Horseshoe. A friend of mine fished up that way this weekend and did ok on the trout w/ an assortment of sand trout, blues, and jacks. Closely follow the markers running in and out of Mcgriff, if you come or go on low tide you'll see why. Just my .02. Hope you have a good trip.
