Econfina 6-1

Post by Welby »

Meet Sea Spot at JR's on the way to the ramp. Saw Birddog in his new Cadillac at the ramp about 7:30AM. Headed out the river with a friend of mine from Thomasville and his brother from Griffen, GA. Sounds like we took the same route out as TC and Chalk (according to Chalks report ). We even crossed paths with the Ghost Rider out on the water.

Enough foreplay..........About the catch. We fished hard and had a mixed back when it was all over. 8 trout from 16" to 22-1/2".
Caught on Mirror Lures, gulps, jigs and old school grubs (provided by Griffen GA. fisherman). Had a flounder in the box and my highlight of the day was a huge RED (so I thought), that I fought for about 10 minutes taking drag and playing tug-o-war with me. I won the battle but to my disappointment it turned out to be a nice stingray. Still lots of fun. Caught and got stuck by a sailcat. And my buddy caught a nice shark on a pinfish. Mainly in 3' to 6' of water all day. Back at the ramp about 3:30PM as Bad Behavior and Cairo Trout were unloading the cruise ship. I hate the tournament got cancelled but I'll take the rain and be grateful for it. The boat and the truck are all gassed up and ready for the next trip. 8)

PS: Digital camera quit on me so no pics........
